ORIGINS
To create this intense, generous and exquisitely balanced cup of coffee with a touch of milk, we tested many coffees grown in different countries of origin and found out that not all interact well with milk. We chose a fine Ugandan Robusta as the base of this blend. Its thick, intense and syrupy texture are characteristic of a cortado recipe. We then added the most refined African Arabicas to complement this powerful profile. The diverse coffee in this blend lends it a real depth of character when you add a cloud of milk.
ROAST
Roast any coffee requires a perfect balance between temperature and roast time. But this balance is even more important when you are seeking the perfect harmony of coffee with milk. We split roasted the Corto coffees at length to reveal the characteristic texture of a Spanish coffee. A long roast, which gives the beans a dark, toasted colour, reveals a seductive bitterness, and thick, syrupy body.
AROMATIC PROFILE
For BARISTA CREATIONS Corto, we drew our inspiration from Spanish baristas who have a perfect mastery of intense roasts and generous textures. That’s why this coffee can be easily recognised for its raw strength, and its intense, toasted flavour. Adding a dash of milk reveals all the characteristics of Corto, how it lingers pleasantly on the palate, its elegant bitterness and its thick and textured body. With a cloud of hot milk and a touch of milk foam topping, savour a Corto coffee prepared with the traditional cortado recipe; The lightness of the milk that you add softens the bitterness.
