Why settle for a half-caffeinated coffee with just half the taste, when you can have Half Caffeinato, with its smooth, velvety texture and its sweet biscuit note. This Vertuo coffee blends decaffeinated and caffeinated arabica coffees from Brazil and Ethiopia. After decaffeination of half the coffee, a light and quick roast of a Brazilian arabica coffee gives this Vertuo coffee a roundness and a sweetness. We chose to blend in an Ethiopian coffee so its delicate aromatics would add finesse. So while half the coffee is decaffeinated, the taste is undeniably full.

Half Caffeinato is a half-caffeinated coffee that’s sweet, smooth and velvety. It makes a medium intensity long black or americano with a delicate biscuit note. If you’re going to reduce your caffeine, why settle? Half Caffeinato has just half the caffeine, but all the taste.
Has a taste similar to cocoa or dark chocolate.
Can be perceived in the mouth at the back of the tongue.
Offers a dry sensation in the mouth, evoking lemon.

Origins
We chose an arabica coffee from Brazil to give this Vertuo coffee a roundness and balance. We blended in Ethiopian coffee so its delicate aromatics would add finesse to this black coffee. Half the coffee is decaffeinated - this careful process keeps the character of the coffees alive. The other half is left caffeinated, for a little extra kick.
Roasting
The arabica coffees in Half Caffeinato are split-roasted. The Brazilian beans are roasted lightly and quickly to develop their sweetness. The second split gives this Vertuo coffee its velvety texture.
Recipes
The milk unfolds new flavors for Half Caffeinato, while retaining its light, sweet character. Notes of caramel and walnut are also perceptible.
