Origin
Historically, it’s tea you’d find in the Chinese home. But head out into the dynamic cosmopolitan buzz of cities like Shanghai, and you’ll encounter a new story. Trendy and forward-facing, the emerging coffee taste is ever-evolving – in the city’s high-end coffee shops, you’re as apt to find an intense blend that begs for cream and sugar as you are a milder sweet and fruity cup. We captured this diversity in WORLD EXPLORATIONS SHANGHAI with a blend of washed Arabicas. A Chinese Arabica delivers a delicate, creamy body. Together with the Kenyan coffee, it carries a sweet red fruit note, and elegant bergamot and citrus aromas, while the Indonesian beans bring a touch of wood spice. A lighter medium roast keeps these aromas intact. A love for coffee culture still has a short history in China, but its trajectory is long, and it’s taking off fast. The future of China grabs their coffees to-go and splashes in some cream to soften the taste and lengthen the treat.
Roasting
Shanghai Lungo is roasted in two fast and light splits, allowing us to get precise results from each part while preserving the delicacy of the blend. A fine grind and medium capsule load keep it from becoming too mild.
Aromatic Profile
Distinctively fruity coffee with generous citric and berry notes, reminiscent of oranges, peach and red fruit. A hint of fine acidity coming from the Chinese coffee in the blend.
Combined With Milk
Add a dash of milk to Shanghai Lungo to turn it into a deliciously creamy cup with plenty of fruitiness and citric notes.
