The light on the Vertuo machine tells you that the capsule has been automatically recognised and the extraction parameters will be adjusted accordingly. The extraction process has started to craft your cup of coffee.

CENTRIFUSION™ TECHNOLOGY
Here is the secret: Vertuo is an intelligent system that individually reads each coffee capsule. This means that every coffee is extracted perfectly as intended, delivering the ideal in-cup result. The unique barcode on each capsule contains bespoke extraction parameters, that regulate the flow and volume of water, as well as temperature, infusion time and even the speed of capsule rotation.
Centrifusion™ the intelligent rotational extraction system provides an extremely high level of precision as the machine recognizes, through barcode technology, each expertly designed Nespresso coffee and adjusts the extraction parameters to brew each blend in the most optimal way.
Centrifusion™ is a word combining centrifugal and infusion, indicating that as the Vertuo capsule spins, water is injected into the capsule and is infused with the ground coffee inside. You can precisely brew your favorite coffee style. Easily. Every time.

With Vertuo you can make an espresso to a larger cup of coffee - Espresso (40ml), Double Espresso (80ml), Gran Lungo (150ml), Mug (230ml), Alto (414ml). Innovative CentrifusionTM extraction and barcode technology adjusts the brewing parameters for each blend to ensure a great quality coffee and rich crema whatever the cup size. These can all be enjoyed with cold milk straight from the fridge.
Original is for your classic espresso experience – espressos, cappuccinos or lattes. The machine uses a high- pressure 19 bar extraction system to release the coffee and fresh aromas from each capsule and if with a milk facility, provides hot milk for espresso based recipes.

All Nespresso capsules are made from aluminum and can be recycled. Request for pick up at the time of your online delivery or bring your used capsules to the nearest boutique or booth, by adding capsule recycling to your coffee ritual, your coffee won't only taste good, it feels good too.

Various scientific studies indicate that an intake of 300 to 400mg of caffeine from all sources per day for the normally healthy adult population does not cause any adverse effects on health.
Expressed in cups, it means 300-400mg of caffeine typically represents 4-5 cups of Nespresso Original coffees, or 2 to 5 cups of coffees for Vertuo coffees which may vary according to blend.
Official recommendations for pregnant and breastfeeding women, however, are that:
- they reduce their intake to 200-300 mg of caffeine per day,
- the equivalent of 3 to 4 cups of Nespresso Original coffees per day, 1 to 4 cups for Vertuo coffees.

Yes. You can add cold milk to all of the Vertuo coffees. The best way to enjoy this is by preparing a ‘Reverso’. Pour some cold milk into your mug, extract the coffee, stir to harmonise and enjoy. What makes it different? By adding the milk first, the rich crema is preserved and by pouring the coffee over the milk, it blends to create a creamy taste.
