How do I obtain a perfect milk froth?

For optimal milk froth, use pasteurized whole or semi skimmed milk at refrigerated temperature. It is recommended to use the milk jug provided with the machine for an optimized performance.

My machine has little or no coffee flow?

If there is no coffee flow, please check if the water tank is correctly positioned, if empty, fill with potable water. Descale the machine, if necessary.

Is the recycle system for vertuo capsules the same as for original capsules?

Yes. All Vertuo capsules can be recycled via our recycle system.

How can I order vertuo capsules?

Vertuo capsules are exclusively available via our website or app in the Nespresso boutique or via our contact center.

How do I reset my machine back to factory settings?

This will reset all reprogrammed volumes, water hardness setting, milk temperature and milk texture settings. 1. Press and hold the Milk Temperature button for 10 seconds. 2. All lights will flash 5 times to indicate that the machine has been reset.

What is Nespresso credit?

Nespresso credit is the monthly amount that you receive on your account after payment of the monthly amount for your coffee subscription. The amount of your monthly Nespresso credit is equal to the monthly amount you pay for your coffee subscription. You are free to spend this credit on coffee, accessories, or delicacies through the Nespresso website, via the app, in one of our Boutiques, and through our telephone customer service.

When can I order my coffee with my Nespresso credit?

Within 2 working days after we receive your payment, we will credit the amount to your Nespresso account. From that moment on you can use the credit to place an order.

What happens if I do not (fully) use my Nespresso credit?

The Nespresso credit that you do not use remains valid for 2 years after it is added to your Nespresso account. All unused credit accumulates.

What happens if I do not have enough credit for my order?

You will automatically pay with your credit. If the amount of your order is higher than the remaining credit, you will pay the remaining amount using one of the available payment methods.

My machine is not working properly. What should I do? Troubleshoot

1. Rinse and clean the water tank before filling it only with fresh drinking water. Put the water tank in place. 2. Ensure the capsule container and the cup support (if necessary for the selected cup size) are in place. For your safety, operate the machine only with cup and capsule container in position. 3. Turn the machine “ON” by pushing the button. The button will gradually illuminate as the machine heats up in approximately 15 seconds. 4. Place a cup of at least 0.5 l under the coffee outlet. Close the machine if open and lock the machine by turning the lever left to the lock symbol on the machine head. 5. Press the button 3 times within 2 seconds to start cleaning and let the cleaning procedure complete automatically. It will take less than 2 minutes before a flow comes out. The procedure consists of 3 cycles of pumping water in, internal cleaning and water flowing from the outlet to complete. 6. This operation may take up to 5 minutes. The procedure can be stopped at any time by pushing the coffee button. The button will go to steady light. In case you want to resume the cleaning process, push the button again. To brew a coffee, insert a capsule, then close, lock the machine by turning the lever left and push the button.

This turquoise blinking is linked to our new function: the "Coffee creations mode". Nespresso offers you a specific function to concentrate your coffee extractions to create your own recipes, enhancing the coffee taste with add-ons (milk, creamer, over ice...). With this function, the coffee volumes are concentrated as below: *For Espresso capsules: 40ml -> 25ml *For Double-Espresso capsules: 80ml -> 40ml *For Gran Lungo capsules: 150ml -> 40ml *For Mug capsules: 230ml -> 80ml For Bianco Piccolo and Bianco Doppio, the extraction parameters are already pre-programmed to be mixed with milk. You'll find the recipe recommendations on our coffee packaging. For Carafe style capsules, the recipes have been developed to be extracted without the "Coffee creations" mode function. The function is only available on select Vertuo machines (this excludes Vertuo Plus, Vertuo Evoluo and Vertuo). An update of your machine via the Nespresso App may be necessary to enable the function. To fully enjoy the benefits, we recommend brewing our Coffee+ range using only the official cup sizes. For the best in-cup results, we do not recommend brewing our XL (Alto Ambrato, Alto Onice), Cold Brew Style & Carafe Pour Over Style with this mode.
