Gran Lungo Fortado Decaffeinato
Why we love it: Here’s the most intense Vertuo coffee in its Gran Lungo size, now decaffeinated. Vertuo Fortado Decaffeinato is an Arabica and Robusta coffee blend like Fortado, but decaffeinated, and still full force. The naturally processed Indian Robusta was our go-to choice for the foundation of this blend because of its high-end quality and unmatched intensity and full body. If you’re tasting those cocoa and oak wood notes - that’s the washed Colombian Arabica we blended with the Robusta. We split roast, giving a long roast of the decaffeinated Robusta to make sure there’s no harshness and a darker long roast of the decaffeinated Colombian beans to develop the distinct aromatics. With the same powerful character as its caffeinated counterpart, and with an equally thick crema - Vertuo Fortado Decaffeinto comes at your palate in deliciousfull force.
Decaffeination
Our decafs go through a good decaffeination process, through which we believe we can remove the caffeine without compromising the quality and original flavors of the beans. We use two natural methods: the water method, which releases caffeine through steam treatment and filtration, and the carbon dioxide method, which uses pressure to extract the caffeine while maintaining the natural flavor of the coffee.
