The sustainability journey of Nespresso coffees continues after every cup of coffee. You can support Nespresso's recycling movement and the sustainability of resources by returning used coffee capsules to collection areas. This way you can keep resources in use for longer, and lower the carbon footprint of your cup of coffee.
When we recycle, we separate the used coffee grounds from the aluminium capsule. Coffee grounds can be transformed into compost or biogas, while the aluminium is recycled.
By 2025, our aim is that at least 10% of our machine sales will be refurbished machines.
More than 90% of Nespresso consumers have access to convenient recycling solutions.
Recycling Aluminium Capsules
Our aluminium capsules not only preserve taste but are also made using 80% recycled content. Aluminium is infinitely recyclable, giving each capsule the promise of a second life, meaning your Nespresso moment does not end with the last sip.
