The power and beauty
of recycling

Our world is in constant motion. Us humans are confronted with millions of small opportunities every day to live in harmony with the never-ending cycle of life, or to go against it.
Aluminium is infinitely recyclable. Its story doesn’t have to end being a coffee capsule. An act as powerful and simple as recycling breathes new life into our aluminium capsules. With our combined efforts, we can craft something beautiful and enduring.

All the potential
of aluminium in a bike

Nespresso leads the way with its commitment to recycling. In partnership with Swedish lifestyle bike brand Vélosophy, it co-designed a sleek, urban bicycle that embraces the potential of aluminium in a functional and stylish product.
The RE:CYCLE bike sports an aluminium frame made from coffee pleasure. This innovative bicycle strikes a perfect balance between sustainability and style. The RE:CYCLE bike brings our recycling efforts to life and aims to inspire and trigger you to recycle (even more) your used capsules.

What makes the world
go round

The RE:CYCLE bike in striking arpeggio purple is an exquisite example of the circular economy at work, from its high quality saddle and handles to its steam-bended, oak carrier basket and copper trim. We only used the finest materials and even included two cup holders, perfectly sized to carry your favourite coffee along. So we’ve come full circle.

Doing good for planet
and people

Vélosophy is the first bicycle brand in the world to make a one-for-one promise. For every Vélosophy bike sold, they donate another bike to a school girl in Africa through World Bicycle Relief. Why? Having a bike increases school attendance of girls by 28% and their chances of graduating by 59%.
That’s how Vélosophy does not only invest in the future of the planet, but also in the lives and communities of young women in Ghana. And this is how you can make a difference by recycling your Nespresso coffee capsules.

“We created Vélosophy with a clear purpose: to have a positive impact on the world. This purpose drives everything we do, from our promise to give a bike to a schoolgirl for every Vélosophy we sell, to producing our stylish city bikes from recycled aluminium. I see in Nespresso a strong commitment to sustainability, which is why this has been the dream partnership. We are proud to have co-created a bike that takes on the future. It is beautifully designed, responsibly sourced and sustainably produced.”

Jimmy Östholm,
CEO and Founder of Vélosophy

By making the link between coffee capsules and sustainably produced bikes, and between the developed and developing world, the Nespresso-Vélosophy partnership demonstrates the positive influence of our everyday consumption choices on the world.

Help us recycle
and bring back
your used capsules
so we can give them
a second life too!
Second life has no limit
thanks to you !
