Does the machine have a descaling alert?

Yes, the descale alert will blink orange when a descale cycle is needed. When a descale cycle must be completed to use the machine, the alert will illuminate solid orange. For full instructions on how to descale your machine, please refer to the User Manual available online.

How to reset to factory settings?

Press and hold the Milk temperature button for 10 seconds. All lights will flash 5 times to indicate your machine has been reset to factory settings.

Is the machine easy to clean?

Yes, all removable parts can be hand washed with mild soap and water. Only the machine wand tip can be washed in the top rack of your dishwasher. The external surface of the machine can be wiped down with a damp cloth.

Where can I use my Vertuo machine?

FAQs

Pairing your Vertuo Creatista machine and connecting it to your WIFI network using your smartphone will enable your machine to update itself automatically, ensuring you always get the best possible coffee experience. On top of this, the Nespresso app will become a great interface on which you can check your machine's status, access tutorial videos and even step by step procedures for the maintenance of your machine. By allowing the push notification, you will receive messages when your machine needs your attention and dedicated screens explaining you how to solve any issues you may encounter.

The descaling frequency depends on the machine usage and the water hardness, which varies based on how often coffee is consumed in the household and the water of that particular location. The general rule is every 300 cups of coffee. The most reliable way to ensure it is ready to descale is through the descaling alert or by checking the status through the App.

The machine steam wand will automatically purge itself after each milk preparation. Be careful, after the steam wand has been purged, it is hot!

After every use the steam wand will automatically purge to clear internally, but the steam wand should be thoroughly wiped with a clean, damp cloth after every use externally to remove any milk residue. Be careful, the steam wand may be hot.

Remove and rinse the milk jug, drip tray and capsule container.

You are not able to adjust the temperature of the Coffee. The Vertuo machine is designed to brew to specific parameters according to the specific blend chosen, this includes the temperature of the coffee brewed. This allows for the perfect in-cup result each and every time. If you would like a hotter drink we recommend rinsing your cup with hot water to pre-heat the cup. It is also recommended to fold in the crema to even out the temperature of your drink.
The temperature of the milk can be adjusted by choosing amongst 3 different milk temperature settings.

Our sensory experts have developed a new extraction method that concentrates the coffee brewed to enhance its pairing with milk and offer you the best recipe experience. To discover this new functionality, instead of pressing once on the coffee button to brew your coffee, double click on it in less than 1 second. The button will blink turquoise.

With this function, the coffee cup size volume will be reduced as below:

*For Espresso capsules: 40ml (1.4 fl oz) -> 25ml (0.85 fl oz)

*For Double-Espresso capsules: 80ml (2.7 fl oz) -> 40ml (1.4 fl oz)

*For Gran Lungo capsules: 150ml (5.1 fl oz) -> 40ml (1.4 fl oz)

*For Mug capsules: 230ml (7.8 fl oz) -> 80ml (2.7 fl oz)

For Barista Creations for milk, the extraction parameters are already pre-programmed to added with milk. You'll find the recipe recommendations on our coffee packaging.

For Alto capsules, we do not recommend to use this function. If an Alto capsule is brewed using expert mode it will result in a 80ml (2.7 fl oz) drink.
