What is the difference between Vertuo and Original?

You can make espressos to larger cups with Vertuo - from a short Espresso, a smooth Gran Lungo, or a bigger cup of Alto topped with smooth and generous crema. Behind the scenes, the technology uses gentle Centrifusion ™ extraction, recognizing each capsule and adapting the parameters accordingly to create your perfect coffee style. With Original , you can also enjoy the same smooth, authentic taste of your coffee - from Ristretto, Espresso to Lungo. The milk machine range from Original lets you craft milk recipes as well. Original machines use a high-pressure 19 bar extraction system to release the fresh aromas from each capsule.

How is Vertuo different from other coffees, like filter or instant?

You can precisely prepare your small or large coffee with generous and silky crema, as each Vertuo machine uses unique capsule recognition and Centrifusion™ extraction system to brew the perfect cup. The unique barcode on each capsule adjusts the flow and volume of water, temperature, infusion time and capsule rotation to make the best part of your coffee experience - your perfect coffee, every time.

Can I use Vertuo capsules in my Original machine?

No, you are unable to use Vertuo capsules with your Original machine. The Nespresso Original and Vertuo use different capsules, which interact with the systems in different ways.

Can I make a cappuccino or latte with Vertuo coffees?

Yes, simply pair your Vertuo machine with an Aeroccino milk frother and Barista milk device, and you can create a range of hot and cold frothed milk recipes, including a macchiato, cappuccino or latte. We recommend the Vertuo range of Espresso and Double Espresso capsules for these recipes.

Why does Vertuo have a different range of coffee blends to the Original system?

When it comes to crafting our blends, the process is unique. This includes a rigorous bean selection, expert blending, roasting and grinding for an optimal interaction with the specific brewing parameters of the Vertuo machine. With over 30 permanent blends and 6 extraction sizes available, we are confident you will be able to find a Vertuo coffee to suit your perfect coffee moment.

Can I recycle Vertuo capsules?

All Nespresso capsules are made from aluminium and can be recycled. We are committed to a circular model with our recycling program that reduces waste while keeping materials in use longer. Fill your recycling bag with the used capsules, then simply drop it off at the boutique or pass it to our delivery partner in the next delivery (only available for certain areas).
