Reviving Origins is our long-term program through which we partner with farmers to bring back some of the great coffees we almost lost.
In 2017 Puerto Rico lost nearly 80% of its coffee to hurricanes. But even before the natural disasters, the industry needed help. Nespresso's REVIVING ORIGINS program joins independent farmers to replant the land and reclaim their future.
Cafecito De Puerto Rico is still in short supply, but each year we will bring you more of this intense and creamy double espresso with its delicious notes of dark cocoa, pepper and brown spice.
AROMATIC PROFILE: INTENSE COCOA COFFEE
ORIGIN
In 2017, Puerto Rico lost nearly 80% of its coffee to hurricanes. But even before the natural disasters, the industry needed help. Nespresso's REVIVING ORIGINS program joins independent farmers to replant the land and reclaim their future. It'll take years to restore the crop, but uerto Rican is worth the wait. After all, they once called this the coffee of royalty.
ROASTING
We split this coffees in two batches for roasting. The first - with the biggest amount of coffee - to a dark degree to develop dark cocoa notes and the second to a lighter degree.
AROMATIC PROFILE
Reviving Origins Puerto Rico is an intense and creamy espresso. The delicious notes of dark cocoa, pepper and brown spice all point to the comeback power of Puerto Rico coffee.
