Traditionally, full-cream dairy milk has been considered the best for frothing because it allows you to create a thicker, creamier foam than other milk. Because lower-fat milk is lighter, it often produces larger air bubbles when frothed, making it an ideal choice when you’re making a cappuccino or a foamy iced coffee.

Non-dairy alternatives such as soy, almond, and oat milk can also be used in a milk frother. Just be aware that the depth, thickness and creaminess of the foam will vary between milk types – the foam from oat milk, for instance, will evaporate quicker than with dairy.

For the best results, use cold milk from the fridge.
