What does 19 bar pressure mean

All the Nespresso machines are equipped with a 19-bar pressure pump, which provides the power needed to pierce the film of the capsule and release the coffee's 900 or so different aromas. The shape of the Nespresso capsule has been specially designed to ensure that the pressurized water flows evenly through the ground coffee during extraction. The temperature and flow time are also set to ensure that each precious aroma is expressed.

What coffees can I prepare with this machine?

This machine allows the preparation of several beverages: 3 different coffee selections: ristretto, espresso and lungo, and 6 milk - based beverages: cappuccino, latte macchiato, flat white, caffè latte, hot milk and hot foam. All beverages are accessible at the touch of a button. There is one button per beverage. The machine is equipped with a multi-serve milk system, based on the double venturi technology. The milk jug has a capacity of 500ml and allows multiple preparations in a row, with the only constraint to rinse the milk system between two preparations, with the easy rinsing function. All the coffee beverages are preprogramed with factory setting but can be reprogrammed to fit one’s taste.

Can I reprogram the recipe buttons on my Gran Lattissima?

Yes, you can re-program these. The Gran Lattissima is pre-programmed at 25ml for Ristretto, 40ml Espresso and 110ml for Lungo. The milk-based recipes are pre-programmed as follows: cappuccino (coffee: 40ml and milk 50ml), latte macchiato (coffee: 40ml and milk: 120ml), flat white (coffee: 40ml and milk: 85ml), caffè latte (coffee: 110ml and milk: 130ml), hot milk (150ml) and hot foam (100ml). We recommend you to keep factory settings for Espresso and Lungo to ensure the best in cup results for each of our coffee varieties. To re-program the other recipes, just press and hold until they pour the desired amount of milk, then release. The button blinks 3 times to indicate machine remembers your setting.

Can I clean the milk jug in the dishwasher?

Yes, the milk jug is composed of 6 parts only and all 6 parts can be easily disassembled and cleaned in the dishwasher.

The Calibration of the pre-sets is all wrong and it is impossible to get the coffee that you select. The milk frother does not make smooth frothed milk for any of the pre-sets or even the Milk setting. Made less than a dozen coffees since new and it is hopeless. My 10-year old machine is better.

Wish I had bought a basic pod machine.

We move from a basic pod machine to this model to avoid having to heat the milk separately. Unfortunately we are disappointed in the coffee it produces as it tastes watered down (which happens when the machine adds milk). We have since purchased a basic milk frother and the coffee tastes better again, however we are now stuck with a massive machine plus a milk frother. It also requires more regular cleaning.

We had a previous machine and was exceptional, would of done over 4 000 pods and it was just worn out , this one have gone through 2 of these units in a week and maybe 10 coffees made and wasted another 20 trying to get it to work. the frother continuously does not work just dribbling out water, cleaned, reset it and response from Nespresso was send it to our technicians . so it will be back to were I bought it and will buy a bean machine and will no longer have to worry about buying pods !

Don’t recommend

The white Gran Latissima compliments well in my kitchen however it’s disappointing on a few things: 1) the machine requires descaling nearly every 2 months, I have 2 coffees a day. 2) descaling issues with this does not blink on flat white as stated on the instruction booklet for Step 9. The machine will only highlight on caffe latte. I’ve already called Customer Service and had my machine looked at but they cannot fix it so had to get a replacement but still happens on the new machine. 3) coffee is not hot enough for my liking. Why do I have to follow the machines desired temperature and not mine? Ridiculous! 4) Good luck trying to get parts for it. The milk container is not good quality, just some sort of plastic and Nespresso can’t tell me when they will have parts in stock. I regret buying this. I only got this in April 2024 and not happy for 5 months owning it.

It’s on. It’s compact so fits neatly in a small kitchen. The milk holder is an issue. Where to top attaches to the bottom, it’s very easy to knock them apart and spill your entire contents of milk everywhere. The water compartment at the rear has also been faulty for us and 2 times out of 10 refills, we’ll find it’s leaked all over the bench. It makes OK coffee. But just ok, in my opinion. I wouldn’t buy it again. Hence I’m on the lookout for something better, 6 months on. I’ve had enough of it.

Machine does not make hot coffee

I bought this machine 6 months ago and have only used it a handful of times. Wasted many coffee capsules and lots of milk. Does not heat the milk hot, always lukewarm. Have gone back into store making a complaint 3x and have requested to be shown how to use the machine and I was not shown as the assistant was not sure how to use the machine. I had requested a refund and was informed it was not possible as it had been used. Mind you this was not even a week after purchase. It now sits on my bench out of use. Don’t waste your money on this machine!

Very disappointed with this machine. Worked perfectly for two days and then we had flashing lights, cup not filling, milk frother not working etc. We returned and got a replacement machine. This did not work either and we ultimately returned the machine a got a refund. I now have a cupboard full of pods which I cannot use and spent time on numerous phone calls to Nespresso and five visits to Harvey Norman. The only good comment I have to make is the Nespresso customer service was excellent so it’s a shame the product doesn’t work. I would love to have a machine but it needs to work.

This model is brutal. Worked great for a year, and then became very inconsistent - even after cleaning and descaling machine would work 3-4x and then start acting up again. Quite embarrassing when you're making coffees for guests and it doesn't work properly.

I bought this Machin yesterday and I was embarrassed in front of my friends when it did not work!!. It's the worst device I've ever seen, it doesn't work very well. It took half an hour to give coffee and on repeatedly and press all the buttons with intervals. and finally 3 lattes, cappuccinos. Flat white all the same !!and the volume was very small and non-standard!!!! i do not recommend at all !
