NICARAGUA
100% Black-honey Arabica
If Black Honey processing were the easy road to a nectarous coffee, they’d all do it. But only a few farmers dare. It’s a rare process because it calls for meticulous monitoring. Nicaragua with ‘Black-Honey’ processed Arabica contains this coffee. It gives this Nicaraguan Arabica its smooth honeyed texture and sweet cereal notes.
ORIGIN
During coffee production, the Arabica coffee cherry’s fruity outer flesh is removed and the coffee beans are spread out to dry in a thin layer. It’s just as it is with natural process coffees, except with Honey process coffee almost all the sticky mucilage is left hugging the coffee bean. With daily diligence they rake and rotate and mix these incredibly sticky coffee beans to make sure only good flavors develop.
ROASTING
Split roasting NICARAGUA with a medium and a slightly shorter roast keeps these Nicaraguan coffees in balance.
AROMATIC PROFILE
Master Origins NICARAGUA with ‘Black-Honey’ processed Arabica is a nectarous coffee - it has a satiny smooth texture and warming sweet cereal notes. Its distinct sweetness comes from the rare Black-Honey process.

80% OF ALUMINIUM IN OUR ORIGINAL CAPSULES IS RECYCLED ALUMINIUM
Why aluminum?
Aluminum is a perfect barrier to oxygen, light and humidity to protect the freshness and the aromas of high-quality coffee, over time. Besides, is infinitely recyclable and is one of the most widely recycled materials in the world.
The only way to become more circular is to ensure what comes to an end always becomes a new beginning.
Our goal was to have our Original capsules made using 80% recycled aluminum by the end of 2021, what we have successfully achieved. And now we will gradually extend this initiative to all Vertuo capsules by the end of 2022. But because Vertuo capsules are slightly larger than the Original, the aluminum content of recycled sources in this range will be 85%.
