PORTIONED COFFEE

The Art of Precision

The perfect pour needs just the right amount of coffee, hot water and pressure. Too little and it can taste weak. Too much and it can taste bitter.

We’ve honed the art of precision consumption to bring you the unforgettable taste of Nespresso at the touch of a button. Cup after cup. It means you get a great cup of coffee while minimising wasted resources and being environmentally efficient.

Almost half of the carbon footprint of your cup of coffee comes from the cultivation of the coffee itself. We’re supporting farmers on a transition to regenerative agriculture, which lowers the emissions from farming and allows for more carbon to be captured from the atmosphere.

Using water, energy and coffee very efficiently means a Nespresso Lungo has a 23% lower carbon footprint than one made in a full automat.

What do we mean by precision consumption?

Precision consumption takes the guesswork out of coffee brewing. We can’t make your coffee for you, but we can help you to reduce the carbon footprint of your cup of coffee.

Every aspect of the process – from the amount of roast and ground coffee to the water and energy used for brewing – is precisely controlled to minimize wasted resources: with Nespresso, there’s no chance of boiling too much water, using excess energy to heat, or making too much coffee and throwing
the waste down the sink.

Of course, it all starts on the farm. That’s why we work closely with farmers to make sure their beans are cultivated in harmony with nature. This is part of our regenerative farming promise.
