REDUCE. REUSE. REGENERATE
A resilient approach that is good for business, people, and planet
As a B Corp™
Infinite possibilities
As a B Corp, we are committed to a circular model designed to reduce waste while keeping products and materials in use longer. For over 10 years, our complimentary recycling program has given your used capsules a second life. And by the end of 2022, our goal is to have all Nespresso Vertuo capsules made with 85% recycled aluminum.
All in for recycling
We make it easy for Nespresso consumers to be part of our growing recycling movement with 88,000 UPS drop-off locations and more than 250 collection points in Nespresso Boutiques and select retail partners across the country. Our capsules are made from infinitely recyclable aluminum, so our customers can help contribute to our mission of keeping our capsules out of landfills.
In the US, we offer complimentary used capsule mail back, boutique drop-off as well as curbside recycling, where you recycle your capsules among other recyclable items via your blue bin and we are working hard to expand curbside recycling across the country.
In NYC, you can recycle your aluminum Nespresso capsules in the blue curbside recycling bins.
Starting on April 22, 2024, Jersey City residents living in low-rise buildings can also recycle by simply tossing their used capsules in their local blue bins.

Doing our bit

RE-THINK. RE-USE. RE-LOVE.
Give your used Nespresso capsules a new lease on life when you recycle. By making recycling easier and more convenient, your coffee grounds can be transformed into renewable energy sources on compost, and your capsules can become new aluminum objects.
Not only do our recyclable aluminum capsules protect the freshness of your coffee, but they can go on to become new capsules, a pen, a bike, even sneakers. Like RE:GROUND, a recycled sneaker collaboration between Zèta Shoes and Nespresso. Each pair is composed of the equivalent of 12 espresso cups, using 80% recycled and recovered materials. As we discover creative new ways to reuse our capsules, what recycled products would you like to see in the U.S.?
