Why do you need to maintain and clean your Nespresso coffee machine?

Nespresso coffee is delicious and full of natural ingredients. This means that coffee grounds can settle inside your coffee machine. However, there is always a risk of bacteria formation if it is not cleaned regularly.

Moreover, if your coffee machine is not properly maintained:

•The taste of your coffee may be altered.
•The internal mechanism of your coffee machine may be damaged.

It is best to be vigilant, especially if you notice any signs of dirt accumulation, if your coffee machine makes strange noises, or if its pouring is slower than usual.

The same goes for descaling and cleaning your Nespresso machine?

Cleaning and descaling are two distinct actions:

•Descaling targets the buildup of limescale from the water used in the machine to protect the internal parts of your device.

•Cleaning involves maintaining good hygiene and removing accumulated residues.

Both processes are important and ensure proper functioning.

Why do you have to scrap your Nespresso coffee machine?

As seen above, descaling is slightly different from cleaning, but is nonetheless essential in the long term.

Although cleaning should be done regularly, clean your machine approximately every 600 coffees or refer to the user manual.

What are the risks of improper maintenance of your machine in the long term?

•Prevents the water temperature from reaching its optimal level, which can impact the extraction of the aroma from your coffee capsule.
•Affects the flow of water from your coffee machine.
•Interferes with correct operation or prevents it from working completely.

Why is there limestone in my coffee machine?

This happens because the water you use to make your coffee is full of minerals. When the water is heated and evaporates during the coffee-making process, a chalky mineral deposit can be left behind.

Limescale is primarily composed of a mixture of calcium and magnesium and can be a particular problem if you live in an area where the water is hard.

If limescale accumulates inside your coffee machine, it can gradually affect its performance.
