The machine is pre-programmed at 40 ml Espresso and 110 ml for Lungo. Milk froth quantity for coffee&milk drinks is driven by the quantity of milk in the jug. All the milk in the jug is completely used for the beverage (single-serve system). A pictogram at 30 ml, a pictogram at 60ml and a pictogram at 135ml and a “maximum”” pictogram (165ml) are marked on the milk jug to indicate the milk quantity needed to prepare the perfect Espresso Macchiato, Cappuccino or Latte Macchiato – or the maximum level you should not exceed. For coffee&milk drinks, coffee quantity is always 40ml and cannot be programmed.

The black window is a sensor that detects the remaining quantity of milk in the jug. The sensor allows the machine to automatically stop the milk frothing process when the milk jug is empty.

The machine integrates a sliding drip tray allowing the use of a wide range of cups, mugs, and jug sizes. The maximum height of the jug must be 145 mm

Volume programing with the machine is very easy. For Espresso or Lungo, simply touch and hold the button for at least 3 sec to enter the programming mode. Brewing starts and button blinks fast (programming mode). Release button when desired volume is reached. Coffee volume can be programmed from 25 to 150 ml.

The cleaning of the Rapid Cappuccino System must be performed after each use.

To clean the Rapid Cappuccino System, disassemble the 6 components of the milk jug.
Remove the milk container by pressing the button on the side of the milk jug. Unplug the aspiration tube. Position the milk spout vertically to disassemble and to reassemble.
Press the button on the side of milk jug and pull to unlock the connector. And remove the lid.

All the Nespresso Original machines are equipped with a 19-bar pressure pump, which provides the power needed to pierce the film of the capsule and release the coffee's 900 or so different aromas. The shape of the Nespresso capsule has been specially designed to ensure that the pressurized water flows evenly through the ground coffee during extraction. The temperature and flow time are also set to ensure that each precious aroma is expressed.
