Nespresso has partnered with French startup Zèta to create the RE:GROUND line of sneakers, handcrafted in Portugal with each pair made from 80% recycled and sustainable materials, including the grounds of 12 Nespresso espressos.

Since the creation of Zèta in 2020, the goal has always been the same: to offer recycled, recyclable and vegan sneakers.

Zèta was committed to making durable shoes without creating new materials. Rather than using petroleum-derived materials like polyester or tapping into already limited natural resources, Zèta select only quality recycled materials.

Two years ago, Zèta took on the crazy challenge of shaking up the shoe industry by turning coffee grounds into sneakers.

The result of a year of research, RE:GROUND is an innovative sneaker: made from 80% recycled & upcycled materials, it incorporates Nespresso coffee grounds in its vegan leather, but also in its outsole and insole. Hand-assembled in the purest Portuguese tradition, this unique pair of shoes combines innovation and durability.

RE:GROUND is a limited collection available in limited stocks in three colours: Latte, Cappuccino and Ristretto.
