Il Caffè

Il Caffè takes you right to the heart of the classic Italian espresso experience. Two powerful-tasting Washed Robustas from Vietnam and Indonesia combine with a touch of Colombian Arabica to hit that punchy combination of smooth, velvety taste and roasty, cereal aromas. We split roast the coffees to give the Robustas a darker roast. The Colombian Arabica beans get a lighter but slightly longer roast to keep the acidity intact and develop a hint of a nutty note. This espresso blend goes down like a dream, its classic aroma promises to delight, and its familiar flavour is one to remember. We crafted Il Caffè to be your traditional espresso experience, but if you want to soften this one’s intensity, why not add milk to make a Cappuccino?

ORIGIN
To hit the intense note reminiscent of your classic Italian espresso, we began with two powerful-tasting Washed Robustas – from Vietnam and Indonesia – to form the base of this blend. We brought in a touch of Washed Colombian Arabica beans to round out the blend and bring to it a hint of acidity.
ROASTING
The Robusta coffees in Il Caffè get a darker roast than the Arabica coffee. A darker but medium length roast is what builds the intensity and boldness in these Robustas, giving them a long-lasting taste. Going a little lighter but a little longer on the Colombian Arabica’s roast is what keeps the touch of acidity and a slight nutty note.
AROMATIC PROFILE
One sip of Il Caffè offers your palate the complete Italian espresso experience. A robust coffee full of roasty cereal notes, the smooth and velvety texture goes down like a dream. Hints of peppery spice add to this classic espresso’s intensity. Its lingering aftertaste makes this one coffee you won’t quickly forget.
