Recycling Capsules

RECYCLED CAPSULES ARE PROCESSED TO SEPARATE COFFEE GROUNDS AND ALUMINIUM IN WIRI, AUCKLAND

Our partner, Ecostock, has worked with Nespresso for more than 10 years. Recycled coffee capsules are sent to Ecostock in Wiri, Auckland, where the aluminium is separated from the coffee grounds.

Our partner, Phoenix Metalman Recycling, helps repurpose our capsule aluminium after being separated from the coffee grounds.

Phoenix Metalman Recycling are New Zealand's largest privately held metal recycler, who are Toitū Envirocare Net Carbon Zero certified.

Over the last 10 years in New Zealand, together, we’ve strived to give the aluminium and used coffee grounds in our capsules a new lease of life. With 950+ collection points across the country, we invite all New Zealanders to get involved and recycle their Nespresso capsules.

Doing our bit

To make recycling easier and more convenient, we have created a local recycling programme with 950+ collection points across New Zealand. Simply bring your used coffee capsules to the nearest Nespresso Boutique, fill your Nespresso NZ Post Recycling Bag and return to any PostShop, or use a bulk recycling box to collect on behalf of your community or workplace. So your coffee grounds can be transformed into compost, and your capsules can become new aluminium objects.
