Banana Coffee Smoothies
Banana is possibly THE most classic smoothie ingredient due to its healthy, sweet and creamy nature. It’s also a popular option for anyone grabbing brekkie on the go. This makes it a perfect pairing with another morning time favourite – Nespresso’s deliciously smooth coffee. We have not one, but two ways you can mix this potassium-filled staple with your daily brew to create delicious coffee banana smoothies.
Iced Banana Coffee Shake
This smooth combination of rich banana flavour, sweet milky creaminess and coffee undertone, may just be one of the best banana coffee smoothies you’ve ever tasted.
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 capsule of Ispirazione Firenze Arpeggio
- 120 ml of milk
- 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream
- Caramel sauce or whipped cream (decoration)
- 90ml water
- 1/8 teaspoon (0.5ml) of powdered coriander seeds
Method:
- Put the banana, the milk and the vanilla ice cream in the blender
- Pour the Ispirazione Firenze Arpeggio espresso on top once the coffee has cooled of
- Blend
- Pour the mixture into a glass
- Finish with caramel sauce or whipped cream if desired
Iced coconut coffee with banana
Enjoy this tropical twist on an old favourite at any time of day.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 ripe banana (mashed)
- Capsules of Volluto or Ispirazione Genova Livanto or Volluto Decaffeinato
- Teaspoon of cane sugar
- Coconut milk
- Ice Cubes
Method:
- Prepare your coffee and slowly pour the coconut milk in
- Mix with the mashed banana and the cane sugar in a blender
- Add the 4 ice cubes and blend again to cool the mixture
- Serve in cold glasses
Strawberry Coffee Smoothies
Next on the smoothie popularity list is strawberries. These tasty red morsels can be used frozen or au-natural in smoothies to add a fruity burst of freshness. When mixed with coffee, strawberries deliver a rich, sweet and creamy take on an old classic. Here are our favourite strawberry coffee smoothie recipes.
Classic strawberry coffee smoothie
A cool, sweet fruit coffee smoothie and a frozen creamy biscuit crunch for a deliciously dazzling indulgence.
Ingredients:
- Capsule of Vivalto Lungo
- Strawberries
- Scoop of strawberry sorbet
- Teaspoon of sugar cane syrup
- Ice cubes
Method:
- Wash the strawberries, drain them and place them in a blender with the syrup, the sorbet, the ice cubes
- Blend with maximum power until you get a smooth texture
Strawberry raspberry smoothie coffee break
A creamy, light and fresh red fruit based coffee smoothie fit for any occasion.
Ingredients:
- 2 capsules of Vivalto Lungo
- 250 g / 9 oz of strawberries
- scoops of raspberry sorbet
- 2 teaspoons of cane sugar
Method:
- Prepare the Vivalto Lungo (2 x 110 ml / 4 oz), pour in a bowl and leave to cool.
- Wash the strawberries in cold water, hull them and chop them into small pieces
- Pour the cooled down coffee, the strawberries, the cane sugar and the raspberry sorbet scoops into a blender
- Mix for about 30 seconds, until you obtain a smooth mixture
- Carefully pour the smoothie into small glasses
Iced coffee with red fruit
A fresh and deliciously sweet mix of rich espresso and fruity tang.
Ingredients:
- Capsules of Ispirazione Roma or Ispirazione Ristretto Italiano Decaffeinato
- 120 g of ripened strawberries
- 60 g of redcurrants (or 160 ml of strawberry redcurrant purée)
- teaspoons of sugar
- ice cubes
Method:
- Blend the fruit in a mixer, adding a little water until you have a sauce consistency, then pass through a fine sieve
- Prepare the coffee then pour it into a shaker with the sugar, ice cubes and fruit sauce
- Shake vigorously until the ice cubes have melted then pour into the glasses
Mango Coffee Smoothies
In third place in the smoothie ranks, is mango. Its juicy, refreshing and sweet summer taste make it a perfect ingredient alongside a dose of espresso coffee.
Iced coffee with mango coulis
A cool, sweet fruit coffee smoothie and a frozen creamy biscuit crunch for a deliciously dazzling indulgence.
Ingredients:
- Capsules of Capriccio or Volluto Decaffeinato
- Small, very ripe mango or 120 ml ready prepared mango coulis
- Teaspoons (6 g) of white caster sugar
- Ice cubes
Method:
- Prepare the coffee
- Mix it with the sugar in a bowl and leave to cool
- Peel the mango and reduce the flesh to a smooth puree using a blender
- Set aside about 120 ml (1/2 cup) puree
- Pour half of the coffee and half of the mango puree into a shaker along with 4 crushed ice cubes
- Shake vigorously
- Serve in 2 small, chilled glasses, adding another ice cube to each
- Repeat the previous steps with the remainder of the ingredients
Mango Coffee
Ingredients:
- Capsule of Cosi
- 1/4 of mango
- Scoop of mango sorbet
- Teaspoon of sugar
Method:
- Put all the ingredients in the mixer/blender
- Mix them all together
- Pour it into a glass
